Harpeth Valley Elementary School (HVES) is school where each child is challenged by an active learning environment; positive behavior is expected; and academic and social successes are achieved. We take pride in providing excellence in all educational endeavors by placing each student first. Building a strong educational foundation and a positive self concept in each of our students are our paramount objectives.
HVES has played an integral role in the community life of Bellevue since 1939. The continued support of parents, community leaders, and local businesses has helped HVES make the transition from its small, rural beginnings to its current leadership role in the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools System (MNPS) by providing an exemplary educational program as a K-4 suburban school.
For the past three years, the academic proficiency of HVES students in third-fourth grades has been measured by TCAP academic achievement grades. During the 2005-2006, 2006-2007, and 2007-2008 school years, HVES students posted the following letter grades: Mathematics – A; Reading/Language – A; Social Studies – A; and Science – A. What a stellar academic performance!
HVES boasts the finest faculty and staff in MNPS. Dedication and excellence are exemplified in every classroom, as our educators plan and implement active and content rich lessons while connecting school life with real world experiences throughout the day. To support faculty and staff, HVES parents, guided by a capable, strong PTO, volunteer their time and donate a multitude of resources based on identified needs
Each day," the mission of Harpeth Valley Elementary is to provide all students with a safe and positive environment to reach or surpass benchmark scores through standards-based assessment”. Our mission statement is proudly posted in every classroom and is stated everyday by the Principal during opening announcements. "The vision of Harpeth Valley is to be the top performing elementary school in the state of Tennessee”.
Harpeth Valley Elementary School is truly a special place. Please take this as an open invitation to visit us where you can witness the excellence of our teachers delivering the best education in Nashville and our students prospering every single day.
Sincerely,
Kimber Halliburton
